Account Governance
Introduction
Cloud account governance is comprised of a set of rules and policies adopted by companies that run services in the cloud. The goal of cloud account governance is to enhance data security, manage risk, and enable smooth operation of cloud systems.
CoreStack provides users with a dashboard view for account governance where they can view various details about onboarded cloud accounts, onboard new cloud accounts, and access additional actions for individual cloud accounts to more easily govern their resources for different cloud providers.
Navigating Account Governance
First, login to your CoreStack account.
Next, select Governance > Account Governance from the nav menu.
The Account Governance dashboard appears.
Dashboard Overview
This dashboard displays key details for all your cloud accounts onboarded to the CoreStack platform, based on the tenant view selected (If no cloud accounts have been onboarded yet, this dashboard view will be empty).
The Account Governance dashboard includes the following fields and information:
Field | Description |
---|---|
Cloud Account Summary (AWS, Azure, GCP, VMware, and OCI) | Based on selected provider: - Management/Payer accounts - Member accounts - Subscriptions - Enrollments - CSP Direct accounts - Billing Accounts - Linked Project Accounts - Parent Billing Accounts - Tenancies |
Account Information | - Cloud Account ID - Cloud accounts (amount) - Authorization type - Access type - Onboarded by - Onboarded date - Status (active/disabled) - Credential Status - Actions |
Tenant Views
Users can switch between views for different cloud providers to view summaries of all onboarded cloud accounts, and use the Tenant button in the top right of the page to choose different tenants to view.
For Account Admins and Tenant Admins, the global Tenant view option is applicable. With this option, whichever Tenant is selected will be retained to show across different modules, sections, and pages you navigate to.
Note:
When using the Global Tenant Filter to select All or multiple tenants while on the Account Governance page, please be aware that this will disable the Add New button for onboarding a new cloud account.
This is to help ensure that new cloud accounts can only be onboarded into one tenant at a time.
